I desperately needed this place in an emergency. Long story short I could not speak more highly of them. Being from Melbourne and having great private heath cover Im lucky to be used to Melbournes best hospitals. I didnt expect much from a small, rural public hospital. However I was pleasantly surprised about everything from the food to the facilities. I wish I could thank each staff member by name. For people who work in what must surely be a tiring and stressful job the whole staff could not have been warmer, friendlier, funnier or more helpful. Special shout out to Terrie. I rarely bother reviewing anything but this place took great care of me when I really needed it and a made a horrible situation very comfortable and pleasant. Im very appreciative and wish this was what a standard hospital experience was like. Many thanks
Emergency department wait time is 4-6 hours. Which is absolutely ridiculous! They need to hire more fully qualified doctors and not be so slow at treating patients as patients are often left in cubicles for hours with still no treatment or they get sent away and get told to go see there gp.
I recently felt extremely unwell on a Saturday afternoon and presented myself to the emergency department. I was immediately examined and admitted to the surgical ward where for the next 4 days I was treated with respect and compassion. The doctors were extremely helpful and my problem was identified and treated. I would like to thank you all you are amazing.
Surgical Ward - incredible and unexpected experience. Could not believe a Ward at CGH could be so efficient and have a workforce that was the optimum of comradship and teammanship. From cleaners to Nursing staff to the surgical registrars and Doctors, everyone went about their duties professionally and cooperatively to provide a high standard of care for the patients. I was in a 4 bed ward and kept my curtain shut for privacy and I enjoyed the rapport between staff and patients I witnessed and overheard during my 3 day stay. The care I received was to a very high standard and I feel the speed of my recovery was due to the whole package of care provided. Congratulations to Gary and your team.
Emergency department needs to improve. I was turned away several times and sent home with a very sick 11 month old before she became a medical emergency things can turn quickly simply wasnt good enough, she should have been treated earlier before it came to that. However doctors, nurses and staff in hospital are lovely, supportive and very helpful
